On June 5: End the Occupation of Palestine – Support the Right of Return!

On the Anniversary of  June 5 1967

End the Occupation of Palestine — Support the Right of Return

Take action against the Jewish National Fund

Support the March Toward Jerusalem and Return

In this moment of incredible change, every act must be measured against its potential to bring us closer to liberation and return. These are the Palestinian people’s demands. We will accept nothing less.

On May 15, 2011, the 63rd commemoration of the catastrophe of 1948, during which nearly 800,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes to establish an Israeli state in Palestine, Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank headed toward home. Tracing the footsteps of their parents and grandparents, they marched on borders, check points and military lines that separate them from each other and from their places of origin.

The mobilizations in put Palestinians back on course, with young and old inspired by their sisters and brothers in the Arab world, to revolt against their oppressor and occupier, and those who would appease them. We memorialize and grieve for our martyrs, and we take up their banners and march forward.

On June 5, every year, refugees from the villages of Beit Nuba, Imwas and Yalu march from Ramallah towards “Canada Park” where the JNF built a park and continues to plant trees in order to camouflage the Israeli destruction of their villages in 1967.

In support of the campaign to Stop the JNF, the US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) and the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network (IJAN), call on people in the US to hold actions in solidarity with Palestinians from the three villages, and with all Palestinian refugees.

  • Organize a creative action to expose the JNF
  • Organize a teach-in
  • Flyer at public places (below are materials)

Join actions in the West Bank, Britain and Canada on June 5.

STAND WITH THE MARCH TOWARDS JERUSALEM

June 5, 1967 was a part of the ongoing Nakba that continues to this day – as well as part of a broader attack on the Arab people. Over 300,000 Palestinians were expelled and made refugees in 1967 – joining the over 750,000 expelled in 1948, when 78% of Palestine was occupied by Zionist armed forces.

40,000 Egyptians were killed by the Zionist armies as they invaded the Sinai, and all of Palestine, as well as the Syrian Golan, remains under occupation until this day. It is telling that this day – a day of continued expansionist and colonialist aggression – is the day that the Zionist movement chooses to “celebrate Israel.” On June 5, we must stand with Palestine – with freedom for all of occupied Palestine, including our beautiful Jerusalem, and the return of 6 million Palestinian refugees to their homes and lands.

Across the United States, USPCN chapters, in coordination with Palestinian national organizations, community associations will be organizing vigils, prayers, and marches, alongside their brothers and sisters organizing marches towards Jerusalem, from all borders. There will be a mass prayer at Qalandia checkpoint, with all joining together in prayer as Palestinian do in the Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

ORGANIZE ACTIONS AND PRAYERS IN YOUR COMMUNITY. WE STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN PALESTINE.
