The US Palestinian Community Network stands in solidarity with Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh and his comrades who put their lives on the line as they confronted Israeli bulldozers at Al-Wallaja in Occupied Palestine. Israel’s inhumane treatment of Dr. Qumsiyeh and members of his group as they tried to prevent the destruction of more Palestinian land and lives testifies to the Zionist state’s murderous and criminal nature. Its behavior towards the people of Al-Wallaja and other Palestinian villages and towns is a continuation of a process of systematic colonization to which the land and people of Palestine had been subjected since the late nineteenth century.
An inherently expansionist entity that continues to be animated by racial and exclusivist doctrines, the settler-state of Israel constitutes a menace to regional and world security. Like its racist-colonialist predecessors, it represents an aberration, a departure from the trend of contemporary world history. As such, it must be recognized as a threat to all civilized people who believe in the inherent dignity and equality of all human beings. It is therefore incumbent upon all peace loving peoples to help put an end to Israel’s ruthlessness towards the Arab peoples of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.
