In spite of all the hardships refugees face right now in refugee camps in Gaza, people in these camps have worked hard to develop their own local economies through agricultural collectives and farms. These families are making the best of a terrible situation.

    • 7 out of 10 households are food insecure
    • More than 1.5 million in Gaza are classed moderate to severe food insecure
    • 70% of the population in the Gaza Strip live at or below the poverty level
    • 47% of the population are unemployed
    • 81% of the waged employees in Gaza earn less than $202/month
    • 80% of the population depends on international aid
    • 1 million Gazans rely on daily food aid

What you can do to support these camps: We can help these economies continue to thrive by providing food security for these families so they have extra money to support themselves and continue to build upon the local economies they have created. 

Why we need your help: At a time when food prices are very high, 100% of your proceeds will go directly to feeding families fresh and nutritional meals, sourced from local farmers and collectives. This will provide essential funding to support small farmers, particularly women, and agricultural collectives in Gaza. the Campaign.

About the Campaign

Covid-19 exacerbated the political, economic, and social vulnerability of millions of Palestinians who were already on the brink of major catastrophes like famine, disease, and ethnic cleansing.

Living under occupation in the West Bank, under siege in Gaza, restricted in refugee camps, marginalized in annexed Jerusalem and historical Palestine, and silenced and policed in the diaspora, Palestinians are deprived of basic human rights and above all, dignity.

So on Palestinian Land Day, March 30th  2021-- which commemorates the 1976 killing of six Palestinians and the injuring of 70 others by Israeli forces in Nazareth during protests against Israeli land expropriation -- USPCN introduced the Campaign for Liberation and Dignity.

The cutting of funds to UNRWA  (United Nations Relief and Works Agency, established exclusively to provide relief and support to Palestinian refugees), the inaccessibility to Palestinians due to pandemic travel restrictions, and the economic turmoil spurred by the pandemic, blockade, and military occupation, is having a brutal impact on our people.

It is our duty to address this crisis now and also organize and advocate for the long term. We will advocate to end medical apartheid, while educating the public and our own communities and friends of the massive humanitarian crisis mounted by imperialists.

We will engage and cultivate partnerships with Palestinians in the homeland and refugee camps in neighboring states, to ensure their voices are centered; and through these partnerships, we will envision and establish future goals and a shared voice as we demand an end to conditional aid.

It is our duty to address this crisis now and also organize and advocate for the long term.

We are partnering with the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), who have been active with Palestinians in the homeland and refugee camps in neighboring states for years, ensures their voices are centered; and shares our vision that demands an end to conditional aid that includes criminal restrictions on Covid-19 vaccinations.
