On Thursday, September 23, a number of media reports appeared in the Arabic-language press discussing a meeting between the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas and representatives of the Palestinian community in the United States.
We in the US Palestinian Community Network, in the interests of the whole truth and in defense of the rights of our people, hereby declare to our people that this alleged meeting did not happen and we deny categorically that Mr. Mahmoud Abbas has met with representatives of the Palestinian community in the United States. More than that, we challenge the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah to name openly the Palestinian institutions or organizations that allegedly participated in this meeting.
The meeting which took place in New York was between Abu Mazen and a few elements that do not exceed the fingers of one hand, supporters of the Palestinian Authority and some staff members at the mission offices in New York and Washington, DC. The only community that met with Mr. Mahmoud Abbas during his visit to New York was the Jewish community, attended by representatives of 50 Zionist racist organizations.
The Palestinian community in the United States refuses to associate with the Palestinian Authority represented by Abbas and its disastrous policies and has expressed this position repeatedly on more than one occasion. The Palestinian community will not accept to hold a meeting with a Palestinian figure who signed the Oslo accords and met with the organizations of the Zionist lobby and embraced the war criminals who have committed brutal massacres against the Palestinian people whose hands are stained with the blood of our people and our nation.
The Palestinian community condemns the Palestinian Authority’s decisions to arrest its own innocent people in the West Bank and to attack the human rights and dignity of the Palestinian people. We reject the policy of security coordination with the Israeli occupation and confront those who mortgage the rights of the Palestinian people on the table of negotiations. We defend the right of Palestinian refugees to return, and the community, an integral part of our people in diaspora, and our nation will not accept to meet with Mr. Abbas and his team and will not provide cover for his catastrophic policies of surrender.
Once again, we challenge the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah and its employees in New York in Washington to announce the name of one Palestinian institution or organization which participated in this alleged meeting. We will accept the ruling and the judgment issued by our people.

تناقلت بعض وسائل الاعلام الفلسطينية والعربية يوم الامس الخميس ، الموافق 23 / سيبتمبر، أيلول الجاري خبرٌ مفاده أن لقاءً جرى بين رئيس السلطة الفلسطينية ، السيد محمود عباس وممثلين عن الجالية الفلسطينية في الولايات المتحدة الامريكية.
إننا في شبكة الجالية الفلسطينية ، وانحيازا لحقوق شعبنا وللحقيقة في ان واحد ، فاننا نعلن أن هذا اللقاء المزعوم لم يحدث وننفي وبشكلٍ قاطع ، أن يكون السيد محمود عباس قد إلتقى مع ممثلين عن الجالية الفلسطينية في الولايات المتحدة . أكثر من ذلك ، نتحدى السلطة الفلسطينية في رام الله ، أن تعلن للشعب الفلسطيني عن إسم مؤسسة أو جمعية فلسطينية واحدة شاركت في هذا اللقاء الوهمي والمزعوم.
ان الاجتماع الوحيد الذي جرى في نيويورك ، جمع السيد ابو مازن مع عناصر لا تتعدى اصابع اليد من انصار السلطة الفلسطينية ومعظمهم موظفين وتابعين لبعثة السلطة في نيويورك وواشنطن. وان الجالية الوحيدة التي التقى معها السيد محمود عباس ، خلال زيارته الى نيويورك ، كانت الجالية اليهودية وبحضور ممثلين عن 50 منظمة صهيونية عنصرية.
الجالية الفلسطينية في الولايات المتحدة التي ترفض نهج السلطة الفلسطينية وما يمثله السيد عباس من سياسات كارثية ، عبرت عن موقفها الوطني مراراً وتكراراً ، وفي اكثر من مناسبة . اذ لا يمكن ان تقبل بالمشاركة في لقاء مع الشخصية الفلسطينية التي وقعت إتفاق اوسلو وتلتقي مع منظمات اللوبي الصهيوني وتحتضن مجرمي الحرب الذين ارتكبوا المجازر الوحشية بحق الشعب الفلسطيني وتلطخت اياديهم بدماء شعبنا وامتنا.
الجالية الفلسطينية في الولايات المتحدة التي تدين قرارات إعتقال المواطنين الابرياء في الضفة والاعتداء على حقوق وكرامة الانسان الفلسطيني ورفضت سياسة التنسيق الامني مع الاحتلال وتتصدى لمن يرهن حقوق الشعب على طاولة المفاوضات وتدافع عن حق اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في العودة ، هذه الجالية ، جزء اصيل من شعبنا في الشتات والوطن ، ولن تقبل اللقاء مع السيد عباس وفريقه ، كما لن تقوم بتغطية سياسته الاستسلامية والكارثية.
مرة اخرى ، نتحدى السلطة الفلسطينية في رام الله ، ونتحدى موظفوها في نيويورك وواشنطن ، ان يعلنوا عن اسم مؤسسة او جمعية فلسطينية واحدة شاركت في اللقاء المزعوم والوهمي ، ونحن سنقبل بالحكم الذي يصدره شعبنا.
