On January 22, 2011, US Palestinian Community Network members in Detroit, along with the Palestine Aid Society and Viva Palestina, organized a fundraising dinner to support efforts to break the siege of Gaza and build for the US Boat to Gaza. Over 900 people attended the sold-out function featuring a speech by Viva Palestina founder and former British MP George Galloway.
