On Wednesday, May 14th, at 6 PM PST / 8 PM CST / 9 PM EST, the U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), Rasmea Defense Committee, the Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC), the Committee to Stop FBI Repression (CSFR), the Palestine Youth Movement-USA (PYM), and the Arab American Action Network (AAAN) would like to invite you to a webinar focused on Rasmea Odeh’s case and strategies to support her.
Rasmea Odeh is a 66 year old community organizer who has dedicated her life to the empowerment of Palestinians, especially Palestinian women. She is a victim of a politicized attack by the U.S. government, and has been charged with “unlawful procurement of naturalization” for allegedly “lying” on her twenty year old immigration application. The charge is a pretext, nothing more than a continuation of government attacks against leaders of oppressed communities in the U.S., most recently Palestinians and their supporters. Her trial is set to begin on June 10th, 2014, in Detroit.
For more detailed information, see uspcn.org andwww.stopfbi.net. Please join us on the webinar to find out more about Rasmea’s case and ways to support the defense work.
We are aiming to convene as many community organizers and activists on this call as possible.
The goals of the webinar are as follows:
1) Overview and update on Rasmea’s Case;
2) Assess capacity and commitment to support her defense;
3) Provide guidance and resources on developing plans for organizers and activists to publicize the case locally and build support; and
4) Plan for mobilizing and logistical support for Detroit.
There will also be a Q&A and discussion section, where participants will be able to ask questions about the case and discuss additional ideas for support.
We are expecting the call to be about two hours long, depending on the Q&A portion of the meeting–please plan accordingly.

Once you RSVP, you will receive an email with the link to the webinar. Note: This email will be sent by the webinar list serve–not USPCN’s.
